All right, I suppose I should introduce myself:
My name is Sam and I fired up this deviant art profile in an attempt to jump start my writing endeavors. I watched Algaegoblin's improvement as an artist over the last two years and started thinking that maybe my writing could use the same sort of help. So here I am.
Right now I have two stories I want to write about. The first is a sort of a spoof anthropological journal by the excentric Dr. Artemis Dansby on the famed and mysterious Chibi-chans. I had alot of fun helping Algae create her Japanese stories, and though alot of my ideas didn't make it into the final result I think that this short study will give me a chance to flesh out her funny little creations. History has always been my love (*ahem*...After Algae ofcourse

) and so to combine the dry reading of an anthropology case study and the child like humor of the chibi-chans into something amusing sounds like a exciting challenge.
The other story is something I have been thinking about for a long long time. It has taken me a couple of years to flesh it out into some sort of presentable story line, but I have always kept it in the back of my head incase the opportunity to turn it into a full length story arose. It started with a basic question, "What if the hole world was artificially made." Not by aliens or anything, but by one lonely man with a desire to recreate the universe. And this lead to more questions. What would robotic trees and animals be like? How would an artifical sun work? How would food be grown? I still dont know the answer to all these questions.
The story itself is about a young boy who shows engineering talents similar to the fabled Artificer, the mysterious man who created the whole earth and is now rumored to live in the center of the sun. His desire to meet this man leads the boy (Edward Todney) across the world into dangerous and exciting new adventures where he meets strange people and battles the forces of Entropy who threaten to bring down the ordered and machine like efficiency of this mechanical world.
I drew alot of inspiration for this story from a number of books I read as a kid. The Narnia and Lord of the rings books are a great influence, as well as the Harry Potter and Golden Compass books. The dark tower series by Steven King is also a heavy influence and might point to where the book may be leading

. It also carries heavy Steam Punk influence which I enjoy quite a bit. Steam Punk was always a facet I enjoyed but is not very common in .
Well I think thats enough for now. Sorry for the terrible spelling. I just got a new computer and it doesn't have a Word processor on it, and being a son of the electronic age my spelling skills have attrophied beyond repair I am afraid.
Cheers,
Sam
Oh yes, also I forgot to mention that I am working on a Historical Web article for a wargaming company so I may place small excripts up now and again just to check if they flow smoothly. Nothing interesting for most of you I am afraid but it is my hobby
